This Façade renovation was set in motion by a functional problem: excessive sunlight in the morning and in the afternoon. The design proposes a New York City Energy Code compliant insulated storefront system on both floors as well as a shading system that will alleviate the sun exposure. This energy efficient approach will lower the costs for cooling and heating the space and increase the comfort of the occupants.
